Tromsø vs. Crvene Zvezde

Hello Delije and Crvene Zvezde!

Norwegians are about to enter your forum and you we will borrow this category as I see no other open forums. And this is in English, the language we all can understand!

Here are some pictures from the 1. round match against Galatasaray

Hey:D
hehe, Oslo? Very Happy
As far as I'm conserned, the match will be played at Alfheim Stadion in Tromsø! Why should we move it about 2000km to Oslo when we can play it here? I think that would be pretty much the same as if you were going to play your home matches in USA Wink
But anyway.... Welcome to Tromsø, and have a lovely Thursday October 20th evening watching Tromsø kick your ass down in the mud, or maybe snow(!) at Alfheim Stadion Wink

The game will be played at Alfheim in Tromsø. Noting can change that, the board made a decision. Though UEFA may decide that the pitch is unusable, but seeing that the games against Galatasaray was allowed (5 cm mud), and the game against Chelsea in 1997 (5 cm snow on the pitch) I cannot see how that should happen.

The temperatur won't drop bellow -5 Celsius (At most -10) and it will probably not snow at this time of year. Hopefully the raining will stop, it has been raining since august here, so that's why the pitch was so bad against Galatasaray - in combination with a temperatur drop from 10 to 1 degree celsius. It is now about 5-10 degrees here. The snow season normally starts around christmas day and last till about april. it may lay about one metre of snow in this period. (snow record was 2,4 meter on the ground 29th of april 1997)

Welcome to Hell (as the galatasaray supporters says) Wink

I don't believe that UEFA will allow you to play in such conditions like 1997 match against Chelsea. Things changed bro !!
I still remember Gullit going crazy with so much snow and referee stoping the match every 15 minutes to re-mark the lines in the ground.

Cannot guarantee anything in football and weather Smile

But we very seldom have snow falling which stays on the ground before christmas.

We must have an alternate arena if the match can't be played. Trondheim Lerkendal (Rosenborg) isn't available that date. But the match might be moved to Oslo/Ullevaall the national arena or to a indoor arena in Oslo named Valhall. These where the alternatives in this winters Royal League competion (Scandinavian Cup.) We played one match in Bodoe the closest Premier Division city, which have an indoor arena Nordlandshallen. This match was moved because we where building a new west-stand, and couldn't play at home, and Valhall was used by Vaalerenga who also participated in the competition. (we was number 4 last season)

We have two indoor pitch in Tromso but they are not good enough for League play, and not at all for UEFA.

It was an exotic happening with the Chelsea stars sliding on snow in Tromso, but we really want the pitch to be in good condition since we have technical players, and don't like to play long balls anymore. Much have happened in Tromso since 1997. Of course we are more used to the temperature and used to rain, but we usually don't play games outdoor after 31th of october, and never before april. (The season in norway starts in april and ends in october)

The pitch has built-in warmth elements, and we use plastics to cover the pitch so the grass lives all year. But it doesn't like to be trampled upon in winter time Smile

Say what? I understand 2000 KM and Tromso Smile Yes its a long way north, but we have the gulf stream which makes a liveable climate all year round. The worst problem is that the sun goes away for two months in the winter, and likewise in the summer the sun stays up all night terrorising tourists and foreigners Smile
